It is the policy of Stella May
Contracting to strive for the highest safety standards on
our projects. Safety does not occur by chance. Our Safety
Program has been developed to assure compliance with
Federal, State and Local regulations with particular
emphasis on the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 (OSHA)
and the OSHA requirements that apply to our construction
operation.
Regard for the safety of the general
public, our own employees and the employees of our
subcontractors is a supreme responsibility of all levels of
the organization. Our goal is Zero accidents. Active
participation at all levels ensures that our goal can be
achieved.
Our safety and health program
provides:
- On-going employee education and
training
- Job specific safe work
practices/procedures
- Equipment operating and
maintenance procedures
- Safety guidelines that focus
management, employee, and trade contractor awareness on
reducing the risk of accidents and/or incidents in all
activities.
- Drug and alcohol testing
- Accident investigation procedure
- Safety incentive program
- Jobsite “Tool Box Talks”
Every employee is required to adhere to our safety policy and prior
to deployment to jobsite employees must complete safety training.
Employees are encouraged to bring to the
attention of our safety management team issues that are not
being properly addressed. It is the responsibility of each
employee to see that his fellow employees return to their
families at the end of the day, safe and sound.
