Safety
Safety is woven into our daily operations. It begins with simple, intentional practices—like starting meetings with a safety message—and extends to company-wide safety stand-downs held twice a year when we stop all work to discuss safety performance, trends and action plans. Additionally, our weekly safety calls with all of leadership, including the owners, help us stay aligned and responsive.
Workforce Development
From experience we’ve learned that a strong workforce is built—not found. For this reason, we’ve developed specific training programs for our employees for the work that we perform, that are led by a team of dedicated trainers. Each month, over 100 team members participate in training including topics such as OSHA, Gas OQs, Electrical, Civil, and CDL. We utilize our in-house heavy equipment simulators to help prepare operators for real-project conditions, and our leadership development and apprenticeship programs to help our employees develop the soft skills necessary for success in their roles.
We also work closely with community-based programs and local colleges to create pathways into the industry.
Information Security
Innovation in our industry doesn’t always mean flashy tools—it means choosing the right ones. Behind the scenes, our cybersecurity processes, tools and controls position us to protect client and employee data in an evolving digital landscape. Our dedicated information security team meets monthly to review and review, plan and implement updates to the security and awareness training that is required for every employee with a device connected to the company’s network, and the updates to our security controls to maintain compliance with federal & client security standards.
Corporate Technology Infrastructure
Our corporate technology infrastructure is set of well-integrated cloud-based platforms that create the digital backbone of the company which supports every aspect of our operations from field execution to back-office coordination. These tools help us stay connected, organized, and responsive across teams and projects, as well as enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency.

Process Improvement and Strategic Planning
We see growth and improvement as the result of operating Stella May as effectively and efficiently as possible during each season of the company. We approach management of the company with a simple and effective process improvement methodology, DMAIC, which was developed by through Lean Six Sigma. We use the five phases Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC) to identify the root cause of inefficiencies and develop actionable steps that will lead to measurable results. We use this process together with our structured corporate communication plan to manage our strategic initiatives.
Government Affairs and Industry Engagement
We engage with government and regulatory bodies to help shape policies that protect and serve the men and women who work in our industry. Our involvement is of the perspective that the voices of contractors and infrastructure professionals and employees are considered in decisions that affect safety standards, workforce development, and project delivery.
Through participation in industry associations and regional initiatives, we stay informed and contribute to these critical conversations. This engagement reflects our commitment to responsible leadership and long-term industry health.
