JOB OPENING:
Job Title: Pipelayer
Division: Civil
Reports To: Foreman
Pay Range: $24.00 – $36.00 hourly
Position Summary
As a Pipelayer/Skilled Laborer, you will be integral to the construction and maintenance of pipelines, reporting to the site supervisor. Your core skills in blueprint reading, heavy equipment operation, and pipe laser usage will be essential for executing precise installations. Utilizing premium skills such as dozer and backhoe operation, along with concrete finishing, you will ensure high-quality work. Strong communication skills will facilitate collaboration on the construction site, while your relevant expertise in plumbing and utility locating will enhance project efficiency. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Install, set up, and calibrate lasers and other survey equipment
- Shovel, rake, transfer, grade materials such as dirt and stone.
- Drive, mark, remove or replace grade stakes
- Measure and mark grades using rulers, levels, strings, or lasers
- Secure utility devices using straps, ropes or chains
- Utilize saws, torches and cutting devices
- Apply cement, glue and other adhesives
- Operate tampers, rollers or other compaction devices
- Other duties as assigned
COMPETENCIES & REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge of tools, materials, methods and techniques for pipe laying
- Ability to interpret plans and stakes
- Communication skills, ability to comprehend instruction
- Competent Person Training
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, and climb for extended periods
- Ability to work in varied outdoor environments, including heat, cold, rain, uneven terrain, and dusty conditions
- Ability to work in confined spaces and trenches as required
